INCREASE OF FUEL SURCHARGE
Due to global increase of fuel prices, CSA joins other airline companies and increases the fuel surcharge to 0.10 EUR/kg or equivalent in local currency as of 1 October. At the same time CSA applies the surcharge on all types of consignments, including Equation.
The surcharge is calculated from the actual weight of consignments and applies to all weight categories, including M.
PERSONNEL CHANGES IN CSA CARGO
As of 1 September 2002, Mrs. Anna Vyskocilová moved from the Sales Department to the Export/Operations department. Mrs. Marcela Salamounova was appointed the head of the Export instead of Mrs. Vera Schwarzova. As of 16 September, a new employee, Mr. Michal Proucil is joining the Sales Department.
TRANSPORT ON CSA CHARTER FLIGHTS
During the summer season, CSA offers transport capacity on its charter flights to Greece. Detailed information on destinations, timetables and prices may be obtained from the Sales Department (at tel.+420 220 115333,+420 22011 3046), where your consignments may be booked as well.
VAL/VUN CONSIGNMENTS
We recommend the shippers of valuable consignments VAL and VUN to book such good for morning flights especially. Evening and night flights may experience handling problems at destinations.
BOOKING STATISTICS “FLOWN AS BOOKED“
As of August 2002, we regularly monitor so called “flown as booked“ statistics. It is a number of consignments sent on CSA flights in accordance with their booking, related to the total number of booked consignments. The first monitored month it was 92,6 %, for consignments from Prague 96 %.
Very soon we will regularly publish this quality indicator on our www.csacargo.cz website.
DGR TRANSPORT TO THE USA
With immediate effect, according to the American government order, all dangerous goods consignments to the USA carried on a single flight may contain max. 25kg of dangerous goods and at the same time 75kg of non-flammable gas only. It is also applicable to OK 050 PRG-JFK flight.
We believe you can understand this restriction and will take it into account when booking your consignments to the USA.
EXTENSION OF THE EQUATION
The list of destinations where express consignments may be sent is again longer! We added the following destinations: BRQ, BUH, CAI, LCA, LJU, TLV, YTO, YUL and ZAG.
We also recommend a brand new presentation at www.equation. cz, where all information on our express product may be found.
BAR CODES IN EXPORT
Bar code readers were introduced for export and that is why we would like to request you to use bar codes when printing labels. Readers make consignment reading easier and reduce mishandling.
If you have any technical questions regarding bar code printing, please contact Mr. Petr Strnad at +420 22011 3468 , who will give you all necessary information.
CSA HANDLES URAL AIRLINES

Only one animal species may be accepted on a single flight operated by airbus A 310, i.e. for example just dogs. And on multi-sector flights as is for example PRG-KWI-DXB, AVI consignments to one of the destinations only may be accepted.
