Unaccompanied Minors

Even without being in your company, your children will reach their destination unharmed. At no stage of the trip will your child be left unattended. Our staff will always be nearby and will do everything to ensure that their flight is pleasant.

Main Information about the Unaccompanied Minor Service:

  • This service is provided for children aged from 5 to 11 years; children under 5 years of age cannot travel alone; at your request, even children aged from 12 to 17 years can travel as unaccompanied minors.
  • The service is provided for an additional charge of EUR 50 per leg of the journey on short and medium-haul flights and EUR 75 per leg on long-haul flights (New York, Toronto, Kuwait, Almaty and Tashkent.
  • Request Unaccompanied Minor service when booking a seat.
  • If you request these services only later, upon check-in at Prague Airport, we have to charge an additional fee of CZK 250.
  • Before the ticket is issued, you must complete the “Unaccompanied Minor” form;
  • You will pay 100% of the tariff applicable to an adult for this child;
  • The child must have his/her own documents: passport, visa (if required for the given country), and a certificate of health insurance;
  • At check-in, your children will receive a special card “Unaccompanied Minor” (UM), which states his/her flight number, name, age, and the languages which can be spoken to him/her; the card is put in a bag which the child keeps hung on his/her neck during the flight;
  • During your child’s time at the airport, a Czech Airlines employee will take care of him/her, and will accompany him/her until he/she boards the airplane;
  • On board, the cabin crew assume responsibility for your child;
  • On board, your child receives refreshments and an interesting package in the form of a special children’s programme Jetsters, to keep him/her entertained during the flight;
  • After arrival and upon disembarking, the unaccompanied child is met by ground personnel who help him/her claim his/her luggage, and take him/her to the customs area exit;
  • There, they will hand him/her over to the appointed person – most frequently to family members;
  • Identification is made on the basis of photo ID, and the person who is picking up the child must sign a special form;
