When can I use Internet Check-In for my flight with Czech Airlines?
- You can check in for your flight over the Internet, if you have purchased a ticket for a Czech Airlines flight or a flight with one of our alliance partners (shared flights with an OK code). Internet Check-In is available no earlier than 24 hours before, and no later than 35 minutes before, the scheduled departure of your flight.
Can I check in for Czech Airlines flights from all points of departure?
- Internet Check-In is not available for all points of departure. For a current list of places from which it is possible to check in via the Internet, see the section On-line Services, Check-in, Internet Check-In or click on the link More about Internet Check-In on the main page of the website.
We have checked in over the Internet for our flight. How long in advance should I be at the airport?
- If you are travelling with large baggage that requires being checked in separately, check in using the Internet Check-In service and then drop your baggage off at a desk designated “Baggage Drop-off” no later than 35 minutes before departure.
- Certain airports may require that for security or operational reasons baggage is dropped off further in advance. Please contact the relevant airport.
- If you are only travelling with cabin (hand) luggage, you can go directly to your departure gate at the airport at the designated boarding time.
- Please allow sufficient time for security and passport checks. In the event of a late arrival, a passenger will not be permitted to proceed through the security check and will be asked to consult a Czech Airlines check-in desk.
What is an e-ticket?
- E-ticket is the abbreviation for electronic ticket. It is a digital ticket that is saved in our booking system. This ticket is issued and confirmed electronically and has the same validity as a traditional printed ticket.
What is an e-ticket number for?
- This number is used for identifying a passenger upon entry to the Internet Check-In service. An e ticket number is a unique number stated on your electronic ticket confirmation. In most cases, it has 13 digits. If it has 14 digits, please use the first 13.
Where will I find the e-ticket number?
- The number is stated on your electronic ticket confirmation. In most cases, it has 13 digits. If it has 14 digits, please use the first 13. If you booked your ticket or had it issued via a travel agency and have not received your e-ticket number, ask the ticket vendor to provide it to you or to give you the booking code.
What is the flight number?
- The number of the flight you have booked, as stated in the flight schedule. The number is printed on your e-ticket or booking confirmation. The flight designation consists of two letters (airline identification) and three or four digits in the case of Czech Airlines flights (e.g., OK 0789).
- Some airlines may only used two digits to designate their flights.
In what cases is it not possible to use the Internet Check-in Service?
- You will not be able to use the Internet Check-in Service if:
- You are travelling from destinations not listed in the list of the points of departure where Internet Check-in is available
- You have a group booking for ten or more persons
- The passenger is a child aged from 5 to 12 years who is not accompanied by a person older than 15; if the child is accompanied by a person older than 15, that person must be listed in the same booking as the child
- You require assistance and you are not accompanied by a person older than 15 years (listed in the same booking)
- You are travelling with cabin baggage that has a separate seat reserved for it (e.g., musical instruments)
- The passenger requires a special service that requires the assistance of a check-in agent – e.g., an animal (dog, cat) on board, passenger with a wheelchair, with medical accompaniment, etc.
Where can I take my bags at the airport?
- If you are travelling with baggage larger than the permitted size and weight of hand baggage and you have a boarding pass issued via the Internet Check-in service, you can drop it off at the desk designated as “Baggage Drop-off”.
I am only travelling with hand baggage. Do I have to worry about baggage check-in?
- If you are travelling only with hand luggage and you have a boarding pass issued via Internet Check-in, you can proceed directly to your departure gate. Report to aircraft boarding at the time designated on your boarding pass (Boarding Time).
What does the class code mean?
- Airlines use various codes to designate flight classes. The following symbols are used at Czech Airlines:
- Class codes J, C, D, I, Z on all flights mean Business Class
- Other codes on all flights mean Economy Class
Can I use Internet Check-In on my return flight, as well?
- If your booking also includes a return flight, you can check in for it using the Internet Check-In service, if your return flight is taking place on the same day as your first flight or a maximum of 24 hours after the departure of your flight.
- For example for the flights Prague (PRG) – London (LHR) – Prague (PRG) flown on one day, with the departure of the first flight OK 650 at 12:35, returning by flight OK 649 at 21:15, you can check in on the evening (starting at 21:15) of the preceding day.
Can I check in a colleague or friend who is travelling with me?
- If you and another passenger have the same booking, or you know the identification information (ticket number, etc.) of the passenger travelling with you, you can check him in over the Internet, as well.
What is a Frequent Flyer number?
- The Frequent Flyer number is your membership number in the frequent flyer programme of the relevant airline (at Czech Airlines, it is the OK Plus Programme). Enter your membership number to have miles credited to your account for the flight flown. You can also request that miles be credited for your flight retroactively.
Where can I find my Frequent Flyer number?
- Your number is stated on your membership card.
- You can check your number in your Frequent Flyer Programme account statement. If you are not certain, contact the airline whose frequent flyer programme you are using.
For whom are assistance services available?
- Czech Airlines offers special assistance services for persons with reduced mobility. The service helps facilitate the check-in process at the airport, getting to the passenger’s gate, and boarding the aircraft. It must be requested in advance, when you are booking your trip with Czech Airlines.
What documents do I need for Internet check-in?
- Legal regulations require each passenger to hold a valid travel document required for entering the country of destination or a transit country (passport or citizen identification card) and any visas required for the target destination of their flight.
Can I change my seat selection even after I have confirmed my choice?
- You can enter the application repeatedly, even after the application has been closed, and change your seat selection. Subsequently, you need to print a new boarding pass, as the previous boarding pass will not be valid.
I cannot find an available seat. What should I do?
- Seat availability is subject to the aircraft type, destination, date of flight, and carrier. In rare cases, the Internet Check-In service may experience restrictions due to operating reasons. Then the Internet does not display the available seats. In that case, please use the traditional check-in at the airport.
When is it not possible to print a boarding pass?
- The Internet Check-In service is available at selected airports of departure and for most of their destinations. Due to security, immigration, or airport restrictions, certain airports do not boast the required equipment. In those cases, you can request to have your confirmation and boarding pass printed at the “Baggage Drop-off” desk.
I am experiencing problems printing my boarding pass. What should I do?
- When the application displays a list of flights on the Confirmation Details screen and shows the status Checked in next to your name, your check-in has been completed (it is in the system). If you do not succeed at printing your boarding pass in the next step, you can ask to have it printed directly at the “Baggage Drop-off” desk at the airport.
Can I print a boarding pass even for a passenger travelling with me?
- Boarding passes are automatically printed for all passengers who were checked in during the Internet check-in process.
- A boarding pass can be printed repeatedly.
Can I check in for connecting flights with other airlines?
- In most cases, the system allows you to check in even for connecting flights with other airlines.
- If the system denies you the option to check in for connecting flights, please contact the check-in desk.
Can I check via the Internet if I am travelling with a baby?
- Children aged up to two years (referred to as “infants” in air transport), can only be checked in via the Internet together with the passenger who has the child written in his/her booking.
The system is not allowing me to make a seat selection change. What should I do?
- In certain cases, primarily on connecting flights, it is not possible to change a seat selection. In that case, please contact the check-in desk.
- For passengers travelling with an infant, the seat selection change options are limited to certain seats, depending on the type of aircraft.
