Baggage policy

 

Amount of liability
Weight concept.
Free baggage allowance of checked baggage for passengers is determined
according to the paid fare class  (for adult pax and child 2-12 years):

  • f/class - 40 KGS
  • c/class - 30 KGS
  • y/class - 23 KGS

Note: elite plus and elite card holders (ok plus programme members only) are entitled to 20 kg of free excess baggage, silver card holders are entitled to 10 kg free excess baggage.
Children under 2 years, for which 10% of adult fare were paid, are entitled

  • to free 10kgs baggage allowance and a bassinet or fully collapsible pram
  • may be carried free of charge if there is space available on board too.

Bicycles as baggage
May be accept non-motorized bikes and tandems only as checked baggage.
Transportation:

  • the pedals must be removed
  • the handlebars must be fixed sideways
  • wheels removed and firmly fixed to the frame

Bicycles are included in the weight of baggage.

Bulky/oversized baggage
Baggage is bulky/oversized if its dimensions exceed 158cms (62iches) or its weight exceeds 32kgs (70lbs).
Oversized baggage must be requested on reservation indicate all  dimensions in cm, weight in kg and type of article.


Cabin baggage/cbbg on extra seat
Adult passengers and children between 2-12 years are entitled do free transportation one piece of cabin baggage, overall size not exceed 115 cm and maximum weight 12kgs in y/class and two pieces cabin baggage without opportunities another equipment maximum weight 18kgs in c/class.

Cabin baggage on extra seat:
if passenger requests to take part of this checked baggage into the cabin (e.g. fragile or precious articles), observe the following:

  • the additional seat(s) must be requested at the time of reservation for the passenger
  • max allowance is 75kgs/seat
  • seat cannot be in emergency and exit rows in the aircraft
  • the ticket have to be issued for this kind of baggage showing cbbg in the name box followed after passenger name  

Checked baggage allowances - piece concept
Piece concept used between Europe and America (USA and Canada).
The free baggage allowance is determined by the number of pieces and the dimensions of each of them. The dimension indicates total sum of length and is expressed in centimetres or inches.

  • for f/c class - passenger can take two checked bags (pieces), of which the total the three dimensions does not exceed 158cm handling weight of each piece must not exceed 32kgs
  • for y/class  - passenger can take two checked bags (pieces), provided the size of each of them does not exceed 158cm and the total size of both pieces of baggage does not exceed 273cm, handling weight of each piece must not exceed 32kgs

Golf equipment
Golf equipment includes a set of golf clubs, a pair of golf shoes and one  golf bag. The equipment is included in the free weight of checked baggage. If the total exceeds the free baggage allowance, 50% of the basic excess baggage rate will be collected for the equipment.                             
Regular excess baggage charge will be collected for any additional above sport equipment.

Pets
In Czech Airlines flights transportation of live animals is allowed. Limit is one animal per compartment - c and y, dogs and cats only! The weight of one piece of animal travelling on board in passenger cabin (pets) can not exceed 8kgs (weight = live animals + container). Maximal dimensions of kennel - length 48x width 32x height 29cm. There is a possibility to buy a container for animals at the airport prg. Documentation for import and transit/transfer must be in accordance with the countries regulations. For details see timatic. Live animals are not included in the free baggage allowance. A rescuer, or service dog accompanying a blind, a deaf or a disabled passenger is carried free of charge. A Rescuer or police dog (muzzled and leashed) accompanied by members of certain professions on duty may be carried in the cabin free of charge.
Final seat assignment will be done at the departure airport.
Animals over limits mentioned above must be requested as  a v i h .

Transportation of water/slalom  skis and snow-boards
Ski and water equipment includes a pair of skis, a pair of ski poles and a pair of ski boots or a snow-board and a pair of boots or a pair of water skis or one slalom ski.
This equipment is accepted as a part of the passenger's checked baggage. If the total exceeds the free baggage allowance, 33% of the basic excess baggage rate will be collected for the equipment. Regular excess baggage charge will be collected for any additional above sport equipment.

Transportation of baby carriages
The baby carriage handle must be folded over the body of the carriage, and the hood, if any, must collapsed. A baby carriage is included in the weigh of baggage and is transported in the cargo compartment.

Electronic equipment
The use of portable transistor, radio and television receivers, cd player and other electronic equipment that might interfere with aircraft  navigation instruments is prohibited on board. Two exceptions are hearing aids for deaf people, and pacemakers.

Transportation of surf-boards
Surf boards may only be transported as checked baggage, however, cannot be included in the free baggage allowance, i.e. excess baggage charge must be paid in all cases. the charge is a follows:

  • a charge for 5 kg of xbag rate will be collected for a surf board not exceeding 277cm and a charge for 8 kg of xbag rate will be collected for a surf board exceeding 277cm.
  • regular excess baggage charge will be collected for any additional surf board.
